Zhang Xiaoqiang, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, Yang Xueshan, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Li Jinzao, deputy minister of the Ministry of Commerce; Wei Chuanzhong, deputy director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Development; Xu Qin, mayor of Shenzhen, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Representatives from relevant departments of the State Council, such as the Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China, the General Administration of Customs, the General Administration of Taxation, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the National Standards Committee awarded the relevant units. Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai Group Corporation, attended the meeting and received the “National Engineering Laboratory†plaque. Zhou Sunhai, assistant to the president, also attended the awarding ceremony. According to the construction plan of the National Engineering Laboratory Project for Energy Efficient and Environmental Protection, Yuchai will build an experimental, design, and verification platform for high-efficiency combustion of internal combustion engines based on the existing R&D and testing conditions. Gu Tangsheng said that the National Engineering Laboratory has settled on Yuchai, which is the country’s high trust and recognition of Yuchai, and is also a manifestation of Yuchai’s leading edge in technology. Yuchai is confident and determined to build a national laboratory for high-efficiency, energy-saving and environmental-friendly internal combustion engines as its fulcrum, instigating the improvement of the entire industry's technological level and building the core competitiveness of China's internal combustion engine industry. It is reported that the "National Engineering Laboratory" is a key deployment of the country's pilot demonstrations and innovations in related industries. Only 33 companies and research institutes have won the "National Engineering Laboratory" project. The awarding ceremony also included 76 "Central and Local Joint Engineering Research Centers", 88 "National Accreditation Technology Centers", 97 "National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratories" and several "National E-Commerce Model Cities" and "Cloud Computing Services". The "Innovation and Development pilot demonstration city" "National Internet of Things Application Demonstration Project" was awarded.
