The rare earth permanent magnet synchronous energy-saving motor is an energy-saving project promoted by the National Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction Office, and is also an alternative product of asynchronous motors in the fields of iron and steel, electric power, petrochemical, cement, and sewage treatment. In March 2009, Shanxi North Machinery Co., Ltd. began researching and developing rare earth permanent magnet synchronous energy-saving motors on the basis of preliminary market research and demonstration. They have trial-produced 7 types of 14 permanent magnet synchronous energy-saving motors, and finally solved the technical factors such as unreasonable matching and unstable operating temperature, and solved global problems such as high-power, high-pressure rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous energy-saving motor heating. The newly developed prototype of a 280-kilowatt rare earth permanent magnet synchronous energy-saving motor has a power factor exceeding expectations of 0.99, an efficiency of more than 96%, and an average power saving rate of more than 15%.
