Universal plans to produce Cadillac Convenj According to foreign media reports, GM has announced the production plan of Cadillac Convenj, which is expected to be launched in 2013.

In 2009, the Convenj concept car was exhibited at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Bob Lutz, general product manager for 2010, once stated that the company launched an environmentally friendly version of Convenj in 2013 or later, but several months later, the production plan for the model was cancelled due to concerns about lower profits.

The model exhibited at the North American International Auto Show uses the same hybrid technology as Chevrolet Volenda, which travels 40 miles on a single charge. News recently revealed that Cadillac Convenj will be an upgraded version of Chevrolet Volenda.

Due to the large market demand for general-purpose, extended-range hybrid vehicles, the automaker has accelerated the production of this model. GM said it will launch two new plug-in hybrid models in the coming years.
