At 11 o'clock in the morning on March 12, when reporters rushed to the site of the incident, the 200-meter-long river in the floodplain of Hongcun, Nanhai, Foshan, was already crowded. It is understood that the salvaged Chinese white dolphins belong to the phylum Chordata in terms of taxonomy. They are national wildlife protection animals, known as the “mermaids” and “water giant pandas” and like to live in the salty tropical and subtropical estuaries. The waters of the freshwater interchange are mainly distributed on the southeast coast in China, reach the mouth of the Yangtze River in the north, and extend to the estuary waters of Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, and Guangxi in the south. The Pearl River estuary is a densely populated sea area and a rated population habitat for the Chinese white dolphins.
