In a recent ceremony held in Beijing, the "Top Ten News of Chinese Enterprises" and awards such as "Most Influential Enterprise," "Most Enthusiastic Entrepreneur," and "Most Growing Enterprise" were officially announced. These honors are organized by the top ten news selection committees of Chinese companies. FAW was honored with the title of "2007 Most Influential Enterprise." The jury selected 20 companies as the most influential of 2007, with FAW ranking second alongside China Telecom. The jury recognized FAW for its comprehensive reforms in corporate capital structure, organization, management, and operations. These changes transformed traditional state-owned enterprises, modernizing their appearance and bringing their manufacturing technology to world-class standards. For over five decades, FAW has played a central role in shaping China’s automotive industry. It has gone through three major developmental stages: producing lighter vehicles, sedans, and micro-vehicles. Its passenger car series now offers a wide range of products, establishing FAW as a leader in the domestic auto sector. In line with the goal of building a modern enterprise system, FAW accelerated its restructuring efforts. It adopted the principles of "reduction, unification, and efficiency," implementing measures like "separation, division, and decentralization." This led to a streamlined organizational structure, optimized workforce distribution, and clearer business divisions across six key areas: R&D, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, spare parts, and auxiliary and derivative industries. FAW also focused on improving its investment structure and promoting equity diversification. It worked to rationalize relationships between the parent company and its subsidiaries, enhancing asset, product, and management coordination. These steps helped transition FAW from a factory-based system to a more efficient corporate model, aligning it with market demands. FAW has consistently maintained a leading position in the industry. In 2004, its sales surpassed one million units, marking a significant milestone in China's automotive history. It was ranked among the world's top 500 companies for three consecutive years (2004–2006) and topped the list of China's top 500 machinery enterprises in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2007, FAW achieved sales of 1.4 million units and revenue of 188 billion yuan. It ranked 385th in the "World's Largest 500 Companies" and 71st in the "World Machinery 500." The company's brand value reached an impressive 42.421 billion yuan, reflecting its strong market presence and long-term growth strategy.
