The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Typical gate valves should never be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. On opening the gate valve, the flow path is enlarged in a highly nonlinear manner with respect to percent of opening.

Hanshi Expressway Zaoyang Section of Hubei Province Occurs Dangerous Goods Truck Explosion Diesel Generator | Diesel Generator Price / 2012-06-22
On the morning of June 22, a truck loaded with hazardous chemicals exploded on the k1169 section of the Hanshi Expressway, causing a two-way traffic control from Suizhou to the north section of Fuyang. The current casualties are unknown.
According to the deputy chief of the Hubei Provincial High Police Corps, Mr. Xie Zhihua, a Hunan-original truck loaded with hazardous chemicals suddenly exploded about two kilometers after passing the Zaoyang service area around 8 am, and the middle guardrail was blown off. Blast a pit with a diameter of 6 to 7 meters and a depth of 2 to 3 meters. The village of 5 kilometers radius of the accident site was affected to varying degrees. The powerful shock wave generated by the explosion lifted an agricultural vehicle under the expressway and damaged at least 15 residential houses in the surrounding villages.
According to a reporter from the Hubei Daily, the explosion caused a two-way traffic control from Suizhou to the north section of Fuyang. Traffic on the road was blocked by nearly 10 kilometers. Vehicles heading for Shiyan in Wuhan can only detour from the Shouju Anju intersection.
After the accident, relevant leaders of the Hubei Provincial Public Security Department rushed to the scene. Safety supervision, fire fighting, traffic police and transportation departments are implementing clean-up and rescue. It is tentatively expected that traffic will resume at 17 o'clock today.
