Commissioner Annette Nance-Holt was seen joining Chicago’s Mayor Lori Lightfoot and a wide range of partners and stakeholders at the grand opening of the Bauer Plummer Public Safety Training Center. This state-of-the-art facility is set to become a vital resource for emergency responders and a key community asset for the West Side. On Wednesday, Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot joined Chicago Police Department Superintendent David O. Brown, Chicago Fire Department Commissioner Annette Nance-Holt, Alderman Emma Mitts (37th Ward), Dr. Elizabeth Lockhart, and various community partners at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed Public Safety Training Center (PSTC). The center represents a major step forward in equipping first responders with advanced training facilities for emergency response, investigations, and tactical operations. The PSTC features a six-story tower designed to simulate real-world environments that firefighters encounter daily, including apartment buildings, hotels, and office spaces. In addition, the facility includes an indoor and outdoor scenario village that replicates a typical four-way intersection found in most neighborhoods. This area will be used to train emergency personnel on responding to a wide range of situations, from traffic accidents to medical emergencies. The 30.4-acre site was once a vacant rail yard that had been unused for over 40 years before the city acquired it in 2017. Alongside the main academy building, the site will also house two minority-owned restaurants—Peach’s and Culver’s—as well as a 27,000-square-foot Boys and Girls Club, all expected to open this summer. These businesses are intended to serve as economic anchors for the neighborhood. Together, the PSTC, the Boys and Girls Club, and the new restaurants represent approximately $170 million in public and private investment in the area. The PSTC is located between two Invest South/West initiatives—one in Austin and another in West Humboldt Park—that are expected to bring $95 million in future private investment. This development is anticipated to create a vibrant corridor connecting these neighborhoods, fostering new businesses, job opportunities, and improved housing options for residents in the long term. the backpacking tents ,the mountaineering tent, the hiking tent, the lightweight tent for climb Ningbo Tuofeng Outdoor Products Co., Ltd. , https://www.tuofengoutdoor.com
