Kirk Farrell, a technical services manager at Titan Mining, has been using the Elios 3 to map old workings dating back to the 1930s. The Elios 3 replaced an outdated system that required a large operating area, while its compact design allows it to maneuver through narrow tunnels as small as 1.2 meters in diameter. It also operates without GPS, making it ideal for deep underground mapping.

Mapping Old Workings Around a Shaft

Titan Mining wanted a clear and updated view of the mine’s shaft and surrounding tunnels to improve their records and understand the full layout. While 2D maps and AutoCAD models existed, there was no single source of truth. The Elios 3 helped fill this gap by providing a comprehensive 3D model of the entire underground network.
