Wu Chungeng introduced that this year will promote transportation energy conservation and emission reduction from the aspects of promoting structural emission reduction, strengthening management emission reduction measures, and upgrading technical emission reduction levels.
In terms of passenger transportation, priority is given to the development of public transportation, vigorously encouraging slow traffic, and advocating green travel. In terms of freight transportation, it promotes efficient transport organization modes such as multimodal transport, transport, and joint distribution. At the same time, it improves the expressway electronic toll collection system. (ETC), reducing energy consumption and pollution emissions by improving transportation efficiency.
It is estimated that the national ETC network operation for 17 months has saved about 120,000 tons of fuel for vehicles, energy saving benefits of about 1 billion yuan, reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions of about 283 tons, hydrocarbon emissions of about 942 tons, and carbon monoxide emissions of about 3 .54 million tons.
