This just in from the scene of a major highway incident near Dundee Road on the Edens Expressway (I-94) in Northbrook late Thursday evening (August 4, 2022). Photographer Tim Olk captured these images showing the extensive rescue efforts underway. Firefighters from neighboring departments including Glencoe, Deerfield, and Wilmette joined forces with Northbrook firefighters to manage the situation.
According to reports, one critically injured person was airlifted by helicopter directly to Lutheran General Hospital for emergency care. The complexity of the crash required significant time and coordination among emergency responders to ensure safe extrication of those involved.
