Mineral sampling refers to the geological work of determining the quality of minerals, certain properties and ore body boundaries in a certain part of the ore body, according to certain specifications and requirements, taking some representative ore or near-rock surrounding rock as samples.
Mineral sampling can be divided into the following types according to the purpose of sampling:
1. Chemical sampling: refers to the sampling work for determining the chemical composition and content of ore bodies and surrounding minerals or other mineral products (such as ore or concentrate) tailings, waste rock and other samples. According to the results of chemical sampling, the ore body boundary can be delineated, the type and grade of the ore can be divided, and the loss and depletion of the ore can be understood.
Second, physical sampling (technical sampling): refers to the sampling work carried out in order to study the physical and technical properties of the ore. For general minerals, it is mainly to determine the physical and mechanical properties of ore and surrounding rock such as weight, bulk density, humidity, porosity, looseness coefficient, blockiness, strength and other technical parameters, as necessary parameters for reserve calculation, mine design or production. . For certain special minerals, technical sampling is the primary method for determining the quality of minerals. For example, gemstones are required to determine the color, transparency, crystal size, color body distribution, and flaws in the crystal to determine the value of the gemstone.
3. Mineral sampling (rock sampling): Refers to the sampling method of mineralogy, mineralogy and petrology from the ore body, rock or its weathering and erosion products.
4. Technical processing sampling: refers to the sampling work performed to determine the processing performance of the sample, determine the ore dressing , smelting, sintering and other properties of the ore, so as to understand the processing technology and optional properties of the ore, determine the production process and technical measures.
5. Sand mine sampling: It is a sampling to find out the content of useful minerals or components in the sand deposit and its recovery performance. The sand mine has a large sampling section and a large number of samples. Generally, the mineral mineral concentrate is obtained by panning, and its content is determined by mineral identification method.
