Networking in the Age of Social Distancing: Enter the Virtual Trade Show

It's fascinating to consider how different things might be today if we didn't have access to the internet and virtual solutions amid a global pandemic. Unlike the Spanish Flu era, we're fortunate to have technology that keeps businesses operational and teams connected. As traditional events like annual conferences and expos face cancellations, businesses must pivot and explore digital alternatives—enter the virtual trade show.

Recently, Nationwide Coils seized the chance to participate in the NYSSFA School Facilities Managers’ Virtual Conference & Expo, held on October 6th-7th, 2020. For years, we've been members of NYSSFA, but scheduling conflicts always prevented us from attending the annual event in person. Finally, this year, we embraced the opportunity to engage digitally and showcase our capabilities to a targeted audience.

A Unique Opportunity.

This virtual conference brought together over 80 exhibitors and 200 registered attendees, providing Nationwide Coils with invaluable exposure to school facility managers—a key market segment. NYSSFA's team made it incredibly easy for us to set up our virtual booth and upload our marketing materials. Drawing on our extensive experience working with school districts across the country, we highlighted our most popular products: opposite-end steam coils, hot water coils, and chilled water coils. Attendees could download a spotlight data sheet on these offerings, along with our brochure and a special preferred pricing program sheet exclusively available to NYSSFA members. While we couldn’t shake hands with visitors in person, we still managed to forge meaningful connections and expand our email marketing list. By the end of the show, we gained valuable insights into the needs of this market—all from the comfort of our remote office.
