NATIONWIDE BOILER INC. ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Nationwide Boiler Inc., a prominent provider of both temporary and permanent boiler systems globally, proudly announced the outcomes of its 40th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, which took place earlier this month at Pebble Beach, CA. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic last year, which forced the postponement of the event, Nationwide Boiler successfully organized a safe and impactful tournament this year. Attendance was approximately two-thirds of the usual turnout, and traditional in-person banquets were replaced with virtual alternatives. These adjustments did not hinder the company's ability to raise an impressive $40,000, which will be evenly distributed between this year’s two designated beneficiaries: Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area and The American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA) Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund.
The tournament spanned two days, featuring a practice round at The Links at Spanish Bay, followed by the main competition at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links. Funds were raised through various channels, including hole sponsorships, competition fees for events like the four-man scramble and two-man best ball, mulligan sales, and raffle tickets. This year also marked the debut of an online auction, offering participants across the country the chance to contribute even if they couldn’t attend in person. Although the absence of in-person banquets eliminated some revenue streams, the introduction of the online auction opened new avenues for engagement and fundraising.
Participants included clients, suppliers, and representatives from the boiler industry, all coming together to support these two remarkable causes while maintaining safety protocols. Nationwide Boiler has upheld its commitment to community service for four decades, and this year’s event was no exception.
Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area, one of the largest chapters of the national organization, serves 17 counties in Northern California, fulfilling the dreams of critically ill children aged 2½ to 18. Since its founding in 1984, the chapter has granted over 8,500 wishes, with nearly 400 granted annually before the pandemic disrupted operations.
The Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund, established by the ABMA, aims to encourage careers in boiler engineering and fabrication. The fund provides financial assistance for post-secondary education and technical training to high school graduates pursuing careers in the boiler and related industries. Since its inception, the ABMA has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
Based in Fremont, CA, Nationwide Boiler Inc. has been providing industrial boiler solutions for almost 55 years.
