NATIONWIDE BOILER INC. ANNOUNCES SUCCESSFUL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS
Nationwide Boiler Inc., a global leader in providing temporary and permanent boiler systems, proudly announced today the outcome of its 40th Annual Charity Golf Tournament held earlier this month at Pebble Beach, CA. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, which led to the cancellation of last year's event, the company managed to host a safe and successful gathering with approximately two-thirds of the usual turnout. This year's event also featured modifications such as the absence of in-person banquets, ensuring compliance with health guidelines. Despite these adjustments, Nationwide Boiler managed to raise an impressive $40,000, which will be evenly distributed between this year's beneficiaries: Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area and the ABMA Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund.
The two-day event commenced with a practice round at The Links at Spanish Bay, followed by competitive rounds at the iconic Pebble Beach Golf Links. Participants had the chance to contribute funds through various channels, including hole sponsorships, competitions like the four-man scramble and two-man best ball, mulligan sales, raffle tickets, and, for the very first time, an online auction. Although the absence of in-person banquets affected several traditional revenue streams, the introduction of the online auction provided an innovative way for those unable to attend in person to still participate and contribute to the cause.
The diverse group attending the event comprised customers, vendors, and representatives from the boiler industry, all coming together to support these worthy causes while adhering to safety protocols. Nationwide Boiler has maintained its commitment to giving back to the community for four decades, and this year’s tournament continues that legacy.
Make-A-Wish® Greater Bay Area is a prominent nonprofit organization established in 1984. It serves 17 counties in Northern California, fulfilling the dreams of critically ill children aged 2½ to 18. To date, the chapter has granted over 8,500 wishes, with nearly 400 wishes annually granted before the pandemic disrupted operations.
The Randy Rawson Scholarship Fund, established by the American Boiler Manufacturers Association (ABMA), aims to promote careers in boiler engineering and fabrication. It provides financial support for post-secondary education and technical training for graduating high school students interested in the boiler, combustion, and related industries. Since its inception, the ABMA has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to deserving students.
