Excerpts from the ChicagoSunTimes.com:

A firefighter narrowly escaped serious injury after falling through a collapsing staircase while responding to a house fire in the West Englewood neighborhood on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. on South Paulina Street, in the 6900 block, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The fire department received a "mayday" call, which is used when a firefighter is reported lost or trapped. According to officials, the firefighter was backing down the stairs as they gave way, allowing him to slow his fall and climb out of the wreckage without requiring medical attention.

While the firefighter was safe, there were concerns about a civilian who was not accounted for at the scene. Authorities believe the person may be a squatter, and searches are ongoing to locate them. So far, no injuries have been reported, and all firefighters involved are accounted for and in good condition.

Updates from CFD Media on Twitter provided real-time details of the incident. One post read: “STILL AND BOX 6943 Paulina details to follow – MAYDAY MAYDAY.” Later updates confirmed that the firefighter had fallen through the stairway but managed to escape unharmed. “No transport needed. All members are GOOD,” the message stated.

Further updates noted that a civilian was missing, possibly a squatter, and that searches were still underway. “Awaiting final search report to account for possible missing squatter. EMS plan secure. Mayday secure. All FF are PAR,” one tweet said.

Another update added: “FF was backing out as a stairway collapsed. He went down but was able to slow his fall and climb out.”

Finally, a statement confirmed that the final search at 6943 Paulina came back negative, with no injuries reported. “No injuries!” the post concluded.

Laminated Tube

A laminated tube packaging is a type of packaging made of multiple layers of materials laminated together to create a flexible tube. The most common materials used in laminated tubes are plastic and aluminum, which provide a barrier against oxygen, moisture, and light. Laminated tubes are commonly used for packaging toothpaste, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and food products. They are preferred over other types of packaging because they are lightweight, easy to use, and provide better protection for the contents inside. Laminated tubes can be customized with different colors, designs, and printing techniques to enhance their visual appeal and branding.
