Hey everyone,
This is a quick update from me, Josh Boyajian. Last night, around 11 p.m., I was walking by the intersection of 23rd and Lawndale when I saw some commotion. Turns out there was a fire nearby, so I decided to snap a few photos. It was quite the scene!
Here’s what I managed to capture:

The flames were really intense, shooting up from the roof of this rehabbed two-flat. You can see how quickly it spread.

The firefighters were already on the scene, working hard to control the situation. They had to cut through a steel fence just to get closer to the building.

The heat was palpable even from a distance. The fire department did an amazing job containing it before it could spread further.

I also got a shot of one of the firefighters heading inside. Their bravery never ceases to amaze me.

Even with the cold weather, they didn’t hesitate for a second. Props to them for keeping us safe!
