The Calumet Park Fire Department received a call about a structure on the 12400 block of South Honore around 7:20 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014. The first engine and ladder company arrived within two minutes of the dispatch. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residents outside and heavy smoke coming from the front door. They quickly entered the home and located the fire in a back bedroom. Within just three minutes of their arrival, the Calumet Fire Department had the fire under control and contained it before it could spread to other rooms or the attic. Additional units from Posen, Midlothian, Merrionette Park, and Riverdale responded automatically for extra support.

The quick response and efficient actions of the firefighters prevented any serious damage and ensured the safety of everyone involved. Local residents were seen watching the incident from a safe distance, and emergency personnel worked diligently throughout the evening. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
