On Saturday afternoon, a house fire broke out in Highland Park, and Tim Olk captured several powerful images of the incident. This was the first significantly cold day in the area, which likely played a role in two water main breaks during the firefighting operation. In response, emergency crews called for water tankers from nearby departments, including Prospect Heights, Long Grove, and the Countryside Fire Protection District, to help manage the situation.
The fire reportedly started in the basement and quickly spread to the roof, causing extensive damage. Local firefighters worked diligently to contain the flames and prevent further destruction. Residents in the area were advised to stay alert and keep a safe distance from the scene as the situation was still under control.
