This report comes from Eric Haak:

At just before 0700 hours on Friday morning (January 6th), a working fire broke out in a two-story frame home located on the 13400 block of South Carondolet Avenue in Chicago. The flames were clearly visible coming out of the rear windows and a door on the "D" side of the house. Unfortunately, this side had very limited access, as it was only a few feet away from a commercial building. The hydrant directly in front of the home wasn't functioning—whether it was frozen or simply faulty remained unclear. As a result, Engine 97 had to secure water from a hydrant further down the block on 134th Street. Meanwhile, Engine 104 was held in reserve. Fortunately, all occupants, including the family dog, escaped the home safely without any injuries.
