Management pressures can quickly be understood literally. Researchers have developed an application that manages stress, with the ability to identify, and users are most likely to discover and inform their response capabilities. Designed using mindfulness theory and cognitive behavioral therapy technology, the Healthy Mind app provides users with nine tools to minimize stress and encourage calm.
“Most people stress that they will not seek any help from a professional form,” said Southampton professor at the University of Great Britain and Lucia Deli’s research team. "However, many people will have their own mobile phones and time. This is a resource that helps people to use unstressed conditions," Addeli added. The free application is a research project that will assess the effectiveness of the notifications that the application has sent and how best to use mobile technology to help people reduce their stress levels.
The application will invisibly monitor the data, such as time, physical activity and user location, to decide when to send notifications. "We want to know when the best time to send notifications is to help them, not ignore them," Yardley said. The app is now available for download on Android devices. Users must be at least 18 years old if they want to participate in the trial. This study will last about five months.

Wear Plate

By alloying several percent of carbon with a minimum, 12 % alloy (primarily chromium), hard carbides are formed and dispersed throughout the surfacing deposit.




These dispersed carbides are much harder than the surrounding matrix and provide excellent abrasion resistance. They are used when the primary wear factor is abrasion. At the lower end of the carbon range (less than 3 %) the quantity of carbides is small compared to the matrix where they are dispersed.


These alloys exhibit good abrasive wear resistance while retaining good toughness. These carbide-surfacing alloys are used to resist a combination of abrasion and impact. As the carbon content increases (to as much as 7 %), in the carbide containing alloys, the abrasion resistance increases and the toughness decreases. This is due to the higher percentage of carbides. As carbides are undermined and knocked out by moving abrasive particles, additional carbides are uncovered to further resist abrasives and delay wear as shown in the diagram to the right.
